What is the job about?

We are looking for an experienced Senior Motor Development Engineer to join our team focusing on Grundfos´ Submersible motors. Grundfos is on a journey towards lowering the environmental footprint of our products when it comes to our own manufacturing and mostly around the energy consumption during operation. This means that we are focusing on improving the efficiency of products. The target is to have submersible electrical motors having the highest efficiency in the market. The electrical design of motors both induction and permanent magnet motors are key in the journey.

You will join our global Research & Development unit in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, more specifically the Submersible & Ground water &Irrigation Value Stream within the Water Utility Division.

You will get to work with numerous skilled and innovative engineers and technicians, SCRUM master, Product Owner working in an agile cross-functional team.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Ensure that electric/magnetic design of both Induction Motors and Permanent Magnet Motors matches the requirements from the global market.

  • Ensure the electrical performance is optimized in upcoming New Product Development projects.

  • Ensure information availability of optimal settings for Variable Frequency Drives to ensure best performance of submersible motors and pumps.

  • Advance execution of the prioritized technical activities within the Product Lifecycle Management of the product line e.g., technical quality improvements and legalization activities.

  • Ensure timely information and coordination with support and manufacturing units for effective implementation of changes to the product line.

  • Have an integral part in development projects as well as product lifecycle activities.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Engineer degree, Master or Bachelor, product design experience is a benefit.

  • 3-5 years relevant experience with electrical design of motors both Induction Motors and Permanent Magnet Motors are preferred.

  • Confident in English and Hungarian written and spoken.

  • Experience in job relevant tools, Simcenter SPEED or MotorCAD is beneficial.

  • Experience in Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ability to plan and develop activities in close collaboration with other functions.

  • Good ability influence others.
