What is the job about? _ _

This position is responsible for the coordination and execution of the: assembly, inspection, and testing phase(s) of Development & Engineering (D&E) projects. Completing instructions, production orders, purchase order request, and communicating with the lead development Engineer throughout the manufacturing phases of the development projects. This includes all material step completions and tracking against plan. This position reports directly to the Director of Engineering and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility 5 days a week. Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities :

  • Coordinate with development engineers instructions for development projects

  • Liaison w/ manufacturing and engineering

  • Assembly, inspection and disassembly of project material(s)

  • Movement and tracking throughout the manufacturing and testing phases of project material(s)

  • Managing, organizing, & labeling accurate D&E inventory & equipment

  • Assist with test set up requirements and coordinate testing w/test labs of project material(s)

  • Formal tracking of step completions and monitoring against project test plan

  • Weekly Production meetings to update project status

  • Participate in developing mid to long-range goals and requirements for continuous improvements in products and development assembly, inspection and testing phase(s) for development projects.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment required.

  • Good understanding of machine shop, assembly practices, and the flow of production materials.

  • Familiarization with computers including: Microsoft Office® (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.).

  • Experience with SAP (Production Orders, Purchase Order Requests highly advantageous)

  • Experience with Peerless ShopTech software preferred.

  • Familiarity with Autocad®, CATIA, or other drafting tools

  • The ability to operate daily out of the Indianapolis facility 5 days a week.

  • Capable of mobility in a manufacturing environment.

  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Able to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
